Although mushroom curry is a vegetarian dish; the outcome of our recipe is that we got mushroom curry like chicken curry. Unlike other easy mushroom recipes available online, our dish preparation time is only 30 minutes, which is comparatively low.

Ingredients Required for Mushroom Curry

  1. ½ tsp cumin seeds
  2. ¼ tsp pepper 
  3. 1 tsp of red chili powder
  4. 4 tsp oil
  5. 1 cinnamon stick 
  6. 2 medium sized onion
  7. 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  8. 2 tomatoes
  9. ½ tsp turmeric powder 
  10. ½ tsp garam masala 
  11. salt as per taste
  12. 15 mushrooms (Button Mushrooms)
  13. 1.5 cup water
  14. 2 tbsp Fresh Cream
  15. 2 tbsp coriander leaves
  16. ½ (tsp kasuri methi) dry fenugreek leaves

Note: During Preparation time wash the mushrooms well and chop them and finely chop onions.

How to Prepare Mushroom Curry at Home?

  1. In a medium karahi, heat oil and sauté cumin seeds, cinnamon.
  2. Then add onions (Finely Chopped), ginger garlic paste and sauté till they turn slightly golden brown.
  3. Further for tempering add tomato (Pulp form is done using a Mixer) and sauté till oil separates from sides.
  4. Add turmeric powder, Chili powder, garam masala powder, and salt.
  5. Keeping the flame low, add the 10 chopped mushrooms into the karahi. 
  6. Let the mushrooms get completely soft in 5-7 minutes on the flame.
  7. Further, add 1 cup of water and simmer for 12-15 minutes. 
  8. Add cream, coriander leaves, and Kasuri methi to it; mix them well.
  9. After 2 minutes, turn off the flame, and the dish is ready to be served.
